How Pixum handles privacy

Pixum provides a safe and secure environment for you to save, share and expose your photos.

Each of your albums and all the implemented photos are protected by an username and password created by yourself. Other members are not able to look at your non-public albums or pictures as long as they haven't got your permission. For this reason you should choose your username and password with consideration. Combinations should not be too short and not taken from everyday life because of the increasing risk of misuse of your data by others.

If you activated the use of cookies and want to be recognized during each visit to your pages (by that cookie), then consider, that everyone using your personal computer will get access to your albums and pictures. In case of networking with others (Internet-Cafe, Business, etc.) you should deactivate "Save password".

You may set your album in the "public" mode. Then everyone is able to look at your album and the pictures you published.

If you want to grant access to your albums and photos only to certain people (family or friends) then you may use the option "Invitation" and send a personal invitation for a certain album via e-mail. The receiver of this e-mail only has to click on the link in the e-mail in order to see the album and pictures. He or she does not need an additional password.

You are able to withdraw invitations if you wish to do this. You can find this option under "Your shared albums". After you have withdrawn the invitation this person can no longer see the pictures in your private albums.

Friends you invite in non-public albums have to register at Pixum. This is neccesary for your own security, this way you can track who can view your pictures.

Creating albums and uploading photos needs registration at Pixum. You have to submit first and last name and a valueable email address. Besides this you'll need an unique username at Pixum and a password. After a short period of time you'll get a secure mail. After following the URL delivered in this mail you have completed your registration.

This data and your individual cookie (if set) are indispensably for using Pixum and will be stored by our system.

During your registration you may spend some informations about your equipment. You don't have to submit this information, it is not necessary for the registration but nevertheless we will treat them with care, as well as all the required data you submitted.

After registrating completly you'll be identified automatically by our computer system but only if cookies are activated. If not, you'll have to identify yourself at the beginning of a Pixum session by filling your username and password. The system will provide an individual session-id which prevents resigning in as long as you stay inside the system. If you leave, this session will be removed.

You may change your profile as often as you want, only the username you have chosen during registration cannot be altered.

We use your personal data only for internal matters and to improve our service offering. We don't deliver your personal data to third parties and it is kept secure at all times.

If you want to use business services (order prints or products), we need further information like your address, pay method etc. The data will be send encrypted through a secure connection.

Your data will be delivered to our sales partner, in order to execute your order fast and correct. After completing the order the data will be removed. Our partner will treat your data in the same way we treat it. The delivery of your personal data, for other reasons than order business, is contractually impossible.

You may change or look at your individual data stored on our servers anytime you like. For removing all your data we need your identification. If done all your albums, pictures and individual data will be deleted.

We regularly check the pictures being uploaded to Pixum looking for prohibited or not ethic content like (Pornography, pictures of primitive brutality...) which are forbidden by German law. Photos which offend against legal regulations will be removed and the owner of the photos will be informed about the violation of our use conditions.

If a certain member offends against our conditions of use several times we have the right to lock his/her access to Pixum , to remove all his/her picture data and to submit his/her data for prosecution.

Pixum realizes that there is no common sense about declaring a photo as pornographic or non-pornographic (art, etc.). Since we cannot exclude that children and young people use the service of Pixum, we will place the pictures concerned within a closed area in the case of doubt and will directly clarify the difference in view with the user.

Sometimes Pixum may change the way we treat your personal data without noticing in advance. In this case you'll be informed via email. According to the kind of changes an additional agreement from you side might then be necessary for using Pixum services in the future.
